Litter Updates
{08-07-2011}
- 2 of Aoide's pups died in the night, one appeared to have had a blood clot in the muzzle from birth, the other appears to have been crushed accidentally. 8 remain (Aoide x Unknown)
{18-07-2011}
- Aoide's pups are looking good, there appears to be three bucks (1 husky, 1 dark self, 1 light self) and five does (1 light self, rest dark selfs of varying shades). We will be keeping the husky buck for definite and possibly one of the dark does, or the light one. Bar those three, the rest are for currently up for reserve and will be available for homes once they reach 6-7 weeks of age.
{08-08-2011}
- The pups are now in wire cage and are climbing about all over the place and nibbling fingers as they should be doing at month old! The husky buck is still a definite for staying but we're still not sure on darkest doe yet. All the rest, however, are now available to be reserved! We will be putting pictures up as soon as possible, so keep an eye out. There are two bucks and four does for reserve though we are still unsure on colours. All of the babies are fuzzies, some are top eared and others are dumbo eared. Please email us if you're interesting in adopting one of these babies in the weeks to come! They should be ready near the end of the month.
{16-10-2011}
- 2 of Elektra's pups died in the night, both from bruising and clotting, thanks to being trampled by mum and her cage mate.
{20-10-2011}
- All 8 pups are well. They all seem to be either hooded, roan/husky or a combo of the two, which makes them look very funky. There are two bucks (one hooded and one combo) and six does.They are all chunky and healthy. Some of these will definitely be staying (especially the combo pups!) for later breeding when they are older. One already is definitely reserved.
{20-10-2011}
- SRG had 7 pups during the day. Two appeared still born, one appeared to be struggling to breath. All pups very small, extra close eye being kept on them all, but fingers being kept away as SRG decided to bite me.
{27-10-2011}
- SRG did not tend to her pups correctly and almost all were lost. 2 were fostered to Elektra, but she sadly disposed of them within a few hours.
{26-11-2011}
- Elektra's babies are doing well and are almost ready to go to new homes. Four of them are staying with me (1 buck, 3 does) and 4 are going (1 buck, 3 does).
{06-01-2012}
- 1 baby has been re-homed, the hooded buck named Buck temporarily has gone to a new family and friend. The two girls to be re-homed, the hooded doe and a top eared roan (nicknamed Twinny) are due to go to a new home in Bristol in February. The runt of the litter, a top eared striped roan, has been named Mirana and is now staying in the rattery, due to health complications. The other three girls have been named Raelyn, Minerva and Isidore.
{02-02-2012}
- One of Azzurra's baby bucks has died, most likely from being squished by mum or Yvaine. Rest are fine.
{05-02-2012}
- Azzurra's litter is doing well, always vocal. Checked the sexes, definitely looks like 8 bucks and 2 does. There are 2 light coloured babies (1 buck, 1 doe) and 7 dark babies (6 bucks, 1 doe) in the litter and none appear to be marked. There appears to be 4 dumbos and 5 top eared, but still not sure.
{13-02-2012}
- Azzurra's babies are now getting their colour and are 2 weeks old on Wednesday the 15th. It looks like a full litter of Berkshire, the majority appeared to be Mink like their father.
{14-02-2012}
- One of two of Azzurra's babies have opened their eyes. They all wander back to the nest when removed from it and are brilliant little walkers! Hope they're all wide eyed when I get back from holiday!
{14-02-2012}
- Yvaine had a litter of 11 pups. All appear to be doing fine.
{18-02-2012}
- Came back to find all of Azzurra's babies to be almost 3 times the size they had been when I left on Valentine's day. They are now all walking around and are starting the nibble phase early! They're all chunky and gorgeous.
{19-02-2012}
- Yvaine's litter is doing well, some look like hooded and others appear to be selfs. Looks like a buck majority once again!
{26-02-2012}
- Loredana had a litter of 8 pups, but struggled in the night. 1 baby, which appears to be a buck, has survived for now.{03-03-2012} - Loredana's only pup is currently doing well, though still small.- Yvaine's litter has now opened its eyes and is two weeks old. A few of the males will be looking for homes between 5-6 weeks, as the rest of the babies will be staying with us.- Azzurra's litter are thriving. They are handled daily and while they still nibble, they enjoy being scooped up. They also love climbing and Azzurra is now getting used to coming out to play, without running off. Out of the 9, 3 babies are definately staying (the two champagnes and one of the dumbo bucks) which means the single doe and her five brothers will be on the lookout for homes.
